The only patented device for mobile, local heat preconditioning in the USA.

Why Local Heat Preconditioning?

Independent Published Data On Local Heat Preconditioning Has Demonstrated Positive Benefits In Single Stage Skin Sparing Mastectomy With Reconstruction.

  • Reported benefits included significantly decreased incidence of skin necrosis by improving the blood supply in patients at risk of developing skin necrosis.

  • The average hospital stay for patients receiving local heat preconditioning also significantly decreased.

  • Local heat preconditioning has been described as a simple and non-invasive method of reducing skin necrosis and length of hospital stay following skin sparing mastectomy.

Published data was performed with a hot water bottle. There is NO dedicated mobile medical device available. Thermavance™  is the ONLY patented technology in this space in the USA.

Improving outcomes one surgery at a time.

What is new in our approach?

There is no dedicated mobile device designed to preform this treatment prior to surgery. Our technology will provide a lightweight, energy efficient, mobile device to be worn under a patient's clothing and provide the appropriate therapeutic treatment in a comfortable and convenient way for a best possible patient outcome.

Why this matters?

Women undergoing mastectomy with reconstruction have expectations of a good cosmetic outcome, as well as a comparable oncologic outcome compared to a radical mastectomy. A single stage procedure avoids the requirement of a second surgery at a later stage. However, there is a high rate of potential complications from the single stage procedure, mostly related to skin necrosis from decreased blood flow with resulting infection and flap reconstructive failure. This risk can be decreased by prospectively using this technology prior to surgery.

What are the risks of skin necrosis?

Skin necrosis may entail prolonged wound care, including significantly delayed recovery and delayed revision surgery by up to nine months. There is a profoundly negatively impact on cosmetic outcomes, decreased quality of life, increased social isolation, and increased wound care costs.
